Printmaking, Landscapes, Woodcuts, Pastels

Working in renovated barn next to my farmhouse in Huntington, I make original block prints and pastel paintings which reflect the Vermont landscape. Designs for the block prints are hand carved from multiple blocks of wood or linoleum. The interlocking color blocks are printed in successive layers onto environmentally friendly Japanese bamboo paper with oil-based inks. The pastels are landscape views not far from my home in Northern Vermont, initially drawn outside and completed inside with an emphasis on color.

Green Design

Made with environmentally friendly bamboo, the Japanese paper I use for my printmaking has a small ecological footprint.  I also use Cranfield lightfast inks which are linseed oil based and wash out with soap and water, so no solvents are used to clean up after printing.
