Rising Meadow Pottery

Wood/Salt/Soda-fired Utilitarian Pottery

Diane Rosenmiller and Nicholas Seidner established Rising Meadow Pottery in 1998. Their pottery is complete with studios, a variety of kilns, classroom and a gallery. In late 2009 they fired for the first time their new single chamber, 70 cubic foot, internal firebox, catenary arch, wood burning kiln. The kiln was designed to burn locally harvested waste wood, from mills and industry, efficiently to stoneware temperatures reaching peak temperature near 2400 degrees fahrenheit. The new kiln will rekindle a passion for the wood firing process that began for both Diane and Nicholas as undergraduates in art school.
