Edward Allen, Furnituremaker

After 31 years teaching woodworking, building trades and serving as a vocational center director, I began making furniture full-time in 1987. The simple, functional and well-proportioned Shaker designs heavily influence my work. Using solid native hardwoods and traditional joinery, I work alone and build furniture that can be used for generations. I use a hand-rubbed finish on my work, which produces a fine surface. Samples of my work are shown below. I will also create custom pieces to meet your specific needs.
