David Tanych, Woodworker and Metal Sculptor
David Tanych, owner and operator of Northend Hardwoods in Lyndonville and Williston, Vermont, is a veteran home builder and fine woodworker. Four years ago, interested in welding, he enrolled in an iron forging and fabrication course at Penland School of Crafts in North Carolina, and ever since has been exploring the possibilities of this medium.
Today his playful, bold metal sculptures garnish the serene fields of his Kirby, Vermont home. His metal sculptures can often be found in the lush landscape paintings of his artist wife, Meryl Lebowitz.
