Design Competition Exhibit and Willem Lange coming to Vermont Law School

Poultney, Vermont- On June 17th and 18th, the 3rd Annual Vermont Fine Furniture and Wood Products Design Competition Exhibit will be held at the Vermont Law School in South Royalton, VT. Come see the best designs in wood from Vermont's premier woodworkers, artisans who preserve a heritage of painstaking craftsmanship and attention to detail that dates back more than two centuries. Vermont's talented woodworkers have submitted almost one hundred pieces of furniture and other wood products into the competition. Many of these pieces will be on display in Vermont Law School's Debevoise Hall during the weekend event.

On Saturday, June 17, the exhibit will be open for viewing from 10AM-4PM and attendees will have the chance to vote for "Best in Show." A reception will be held from 4-7PM, featuring an award ceremony from 4:30-5:30 at which time winning entries will be recognized. Following the award presentation special guest Willem Lange, carpenter and storyteller, will entertain us with his wit and wisdom as regularly heard on Vermont Public Radio and read in Yankee Notebook.
On Sunday, June 18, the exhibit will again be open for viewing from 11AM-3PM.

The goal of the competition is to raise the awareness of consumers and the professional community of the diversity, high-quality craftsmanship, and innovative design exhibited in furniture and wood products designed and made in Vermont, by Vermont furniture makers and woodworkers. Entries in the competition were submitted in the following categories: production furniture, custom or studio furniture, reproduction furniture, production turnings, custom turnings, architectural installations, production woodenware/accessories, custom woodenware/accessories, carving & sculpture, and students/apprentices.

All are invited to attend this premier woodworking event. Come see what Vermont's wood artisans have to offer. For more information call 802-287-4284 or visit www.vermontwooddesigns.org where you may also submit your vote for Best in Show.
